Auburn Movies

The Auburn Recreation Department will present “Movies in the Park,” a series of three family-fun films to be shown at various outdoor locations around the city through September. The movies will be free and open to the public and will begin at dusk (approximately 8:30 p.m.).

The series will start on Friday, July 31 with the children’s movie “Ratatouille” (rated G), to be shown on a cinema-style screen at Festival Plaza. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis and those attending are encouraged to bring blankets, pillows and/or low chairs and snacks. Several non-profit organizations are also expected to be onsite to accept donations for snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. In the event of rain, the movie will be screened indoors at the Hasty Gymnasium at Pettengill Park.

The other movies in the series are “The Jungle Book” (rated G), to be screened on Friday, August 28 at a New Auburn location to be announced, and “Gone with the Wind” (rated G), to be screened on Sunday, September 6 at Lake Grove Park.
