For one weekend only, Lewiston-Auburn’s professional theater company, The Public Theatre, will present their acclaimed original adaptation of Charles Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol,” followed by a holiday sing-a-long featuring Christmas Carol fiddler Jennifer Armstrong, on Friday, December 12 at 7 p.m., Saturday, December 13 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 14 at 2 p.m.

The Public Theatre’s adaptation of Dickens’ classic, featuring six actors and a fiddler, has become a favorite holiday tradition in Lewiston-Auburn and around the world. In this delightful version, much of Dickens’ original text is used, with six actors sharing narration and portraying various characters. A live fiddler underscores the story with traditional Christmas music, while a hand-cranked wind machine and a thunder sheet create a delightfully theatrical atmosphere, allowing the classic story to come to life in exciting new ways.
