Scouts offer Christmas tree pick-up

w.Scouts.Trees

Members of Boy Scout Troop 121 of Auburn will pick up your discarded Christmas tree on January 10 or 11 for a minimum $5 donation.

For the third year, Boy Scout Troop 121 of Auburn will collect discarded Christmas trees and deliver them to local recycling centers in Auburn and Lewiston. While the cities of Auburn and Lewiston provide locations for free tree disposal, they no longer collect trees at curbside. For a minimum donation of $5, the scouts will pick up Christmas trees on the weekend of January 10 and 11. Trees must be at curbside for pick-up by the morning of January 10.

To make a pick-up request, send your donation to Troop 121, United Methodist Church, 439 Park Avenue, Auburn, ME 04210. The Troop will then send you a tag to place on your tree when you place it at curbside. Tree tags can also be picked up at Auburn-Lewiston tree sale locations. For more information, call 783-0790.

Troop 121 was created to give youth with special physical, mental and emotional challenges opportunities for success in a safe Scouting environment that builds character, encourages citizenship, teaches life skills and develops personal fitness.
