Saint Dominic Academy Senior Diego Villamarin

Senior Diego Villamarin of Auburn has been selected to receive Saint Dominic Academy’s 2016 Principal’s Award. Sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, the award is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

“Diego has been an outstanding student throughout his years at St. Dom’s,” said principal Joline Girouard. “He excels academically and athletically, having been named MVP and captain of the Varsity Cross Country Team. Diego is very involved in the school community and is very deserving of this recognition.”

The Maine Principals’ Association is a professional organization that represents Maine’s school administrators. The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA.

Villamarin and Principal Girouard, along with other award winners and their principals from high schools across the state, will attend an Honors Luncheon at the Spectacular Event Center in Bangor on Saturday, April 2. The Honors Luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of five $1,000 scholarships in the names of Horace O. McGrowan and Richard W. Tyler, former Maine principals and executive directors of the MPA.
